Ok, folks. Just seeing if there's any interest here in rebooting Mercs. I have some ideas. _________________ "Hot lead never loses its effectiveness in the wrecking-up of the shit."

I've got zippo for time, but you know I can't resist an opportunity to play Frank! He's my favorite hardass of all time.

This would be very casual, probably a couple of posts a week at the max. I'm just looking for an outlet to run some modern stuff that my current tabletop group seems to abhor.
For ease of running, I'm thinking Savage Worlds as it's a bare minimum of stats/checks needed to resolve things.
As for the immediate future, let's just run this as a casual exchange until we get back into the swing of things...Cthulhu knows I'm going to rusty for a while. _________________ "Hot lead never loses its effectiveness in the wrecking-up of the shit."

A bit of back story of Frank's book. The true story of what went down in Vegas was a New York Times best seller for nearly a year. It's in its third printing. It's basically the equivalent of Nicholas Peleggi's book Wiseguy, which was adapted for the movie Goodfellas.
Frank made some serious bank and is now in talks with Hollywood to do a basically rebooted Casino for the modern era. _________________ "Hot lead never loses its effectiveness in the wrecking-up of the shit."

And now for the rest of the lineup...
CharGen is still the same old, same old...look under the Links header on this page.
As for Frank, being the sole survivor has its benefits. Level him up to 40XP...I believe he's currently at 30XP.
I know Gatac and ADS already have some ideas. _________________ "Hot lead never loses its effectiveness in the wrecking-up of the shit."

Considering what he survived, one of Frank's level-ups had to be either Improved Nerves of Steel or Hard to Kill. Not sure which. Need to think about the other level-up some more.

FYI
Everyone who has submitted characters as of late will be incorporated into the plotline.

I chopped up the two concurrent subplots so every won't have to scroll back/forth for their parts. _________________ "Hot lead never loses its effectiveness in the wrecking-up of the shit."

Been remiss on keeping with this. A proper update should be coming soon. _________________ "Hot lead never loses its effectiveness in the wrecking-up of the shit."

Hi Dieter,
Considering Frank's current situation, would it make sense to use one of his Level-Ups to buy off his Poverty hindrance? (Since buying off a hindrance normally requires GM approval, I figured I should ask.)
Regards,

Gordon (and the rest of you guys)
Sorry for being 3 weeks late on a reply. There was a Worksplosion at my office and I haven't had much time to devote to the game. Ok, ok...so there was also Borderlands and Modern Warfare 2. No real excuse for such a late reply.
Considering Frank's new-found wealth, he indeed loses his Poverty Hindrance. _________________ "Hot lead never loses its effectiveness in the wrecking-up of the shit."

No problem, Dieter. Take your time.
As usual, I can't edit in the wiki. If anyone feels like updating Frank's sheet for me, add Hard To Kill at 35 XP and cross off Poverty at 40 XP.
Thanks,
Gordon |
